Glossary
- Aerobic O2TM
- Stabilized negative ions of oxygen known to supply each cell with life-giving oxygen an essential element to healthy cell function. Because Aerobic OxygenTM is stable it does not increase oxidation or the creation of free radicals as increased levels of oxygen generally will do.
- ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid)
- The Super Antioxidant, considered to be more effective than Vitamin A, C & E combined and known to be 400 times stronger than Vitamin C. Its primary function is to assist in cell metabolism and to aid in the production of collagen and elastin; restoring skin elasticity, which helps to remove fine lines and wrinkles.
- Alchemy
- An ancient art and precursor to modern chemistry where alchemists devoted their time and energy in efforts to find the means of prolonging life. Much of their interest could be described as having a desire to transmute substances into higher quality substances. Alchemists discovered how to transmute base metals such as lead and tin into gold and silver.
- Almond Oil
- A natural moisturizer, skin softener and conditioner containing vitamin A. This oil is high in minerals, protein, and naturally occurring vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6 and E).
- Aloe Vera Gel
- An extract of the Aloe Vera Plant, Aloe Vera Gel has its own vitamins, minerals and enzymes and contains lignin, which acts as a carrier. It has excellent hydrating, softening and soothing properties, and helps build collagen in the skin. Aloe Vera Gel is reported to prevent immune suppression of accessory cell function in skin caused by UVB by repairing damage to epidermal Langerhans cells. Also present in the gel are salicylic acid and carboxypeptidase, responsible in part for its anti-inflammatory properties.
- Antioxidants
- These fight free radicals introduced to the skin through the air we breathe, the sun, and toxins we encounter every day. Free radicals are electrons that are loose in the cells and cause damage on a cellular level, creating anything from sagging skin and minor skin blemishes, to cancer. - Avocado Avocado Oil
- A Rich textured nourishing oil often used to balance and moisturize dry or mature skin. Contains vitamins A, D and E.
- Beeswax
- An excellent protector for the skin that forms a barrier once the lotion has evaporated and penetrated the skin. This physical barrier protects the skin, not only from moisture loss, but also from contaminants that the skin can come in contact. Compatible with human sebum as it has been said to have the same molecular structure.
- Bergamot Essential Oil
- Pressed from the fresh peel of a small orange, Citrus aurantium var bergamia, first grown in the northern Italian village of Bergamot. Bergamot benefits most skin types and is especially healing for oily skin conditions originating in the nervous system.

- Black Current Oil
- Contains high concentrations of gamma linoliec acid and contains antioxidants protecting the skin from the formation of free radicals.
- Borage Oil
- A rich oil from the seeds of the Borage plant containing a high content of essential fatty acids, including gamma linolic Acid which is an essential nutrient for healthy skin. - Calendula
- An anti-inflammatory extract of the marigold plant used to soothe sensitive skin and reduce puffiness. Calendula flowers contain an essential oil that has an antibiotic effect, stimulating the immune system and enhancing the body’s fight against infection. It rapidly promotes tissue repair and minimizes scar formation.
- Calophyllum Inophyllum
- Beautiful leaf, an extract of oil from the nut of the Tamanu tree. Indigenous to Southeast Asia, this Tamanu nut yields rich, luxurious dark green oil and has been reputed to assist in the process of forming new tissue and speeding the healing processes of the skin.

- Castile Soap
- Mild, moisturizing soap made from olive oil.
- Cedarwood
- Essential Oil Steam distilled from the chips of the Atlantic cedar, Cedrus atlantica, native to the Atlas Mountains of Algeria and Morocco. Calms oily and irritated skin.
- Cetyl Alcohol
- Plant derived emulsifier.
- Chamomile
- Essential Oil Extracted by distillation of dried chamomile flowers. Anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic. Great for sensitive skin.
- Clary Sage
- Essential Oil Distilled from the flowering herb of Salvia sclarea, a European herb. It is a complex oil with a particular affinity for the female cycle, having calming and soothing properties due to the effects of the ester chemical compounds. It is also astringent, sebum balancing and useful for treating premenstrual complexion blemishes.
- CO2
- The process of using carbon dioxide as a solvent to extract plant fats and other substances using no chemical solvents.
- Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate
- A mild surfactant derived from coconut.
- Coconut Oil and Wormwood Oil
- Together with the active enzymes found in Enzyme Relief Balm, these oils produce a derivative of licorice — "DGL." DGL is a form of licorice stripped of glycyrrhetinic acid, and is a natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic compound.
- Colloidal Oatmeal
- A powdered form of oatmeal made by grinding whole oat kernels into microscopic particles. This provides the therapeutic skin properties of the oat grain which binds moisture and soothes skin
- Combava
- An essential oil, wild-crafted responsibly, from the Madagascar rain forest. It is from the petitigrain family and is especially important for stimulating micro-stimulation and lymphatic drainage, counteracts sluggishness and restores vibrancy to the skin. - Coneflower
- Commonly known as Echinacea. Very effective topically as a skin tonic to dilate peripheral blood vessels and reduce inflammation.
- Cypress
- Essential Oil Distilled from the leaves and twigs of the evergreen Cupressus sempervirens, a tall perennial tree common to the Mediterranean region, this oil is rich in terpene hydrocarbons (70%) and is an excellent decongestant for veins and lymphatic system. This is an invaluable oil for mature skin. Tightens enlarged pores, protects capillaries and refines oily, spongy complexions.
- DMAE
- A naturally produced chemical in the human brain, the precursor for the production of acetycholine. As the aging process occurs, the nervous system slows which slows the production of acetycholine. The releasing of this chemical assists with many functions such as memory and mental clarity but also muscle movement and tone. When levels of acetycholine are increased the tone and texture flexibility and resiliency of the muscle is restored.
- Elderflower
- Derived from the elder tree, traditionally known as "Nature’s Medicine Chest," elderflower preparations tone, cleanse, soothe skin irritations and have powerful antioxidant properties.

- The process of binding a mixture such as oil to water.

- Molecular Chemistry

- Panthenol
- Often used in hair care for moisturizing the hair follicles, its use in skin care is often overlooked. It is an excellent moisturizer, and imparts a soft, silky feeling.
- Peppermint Essential Oil
- Steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the familiar peppermint herb Mentha x piperita, its high menthol and menthone content make this oil a stimulant for circulation. A cleansing and refreshing oil.
- Phospholipids
- Phospholipids are substances that contain fatty acids, glycerol, a nitrogenous base and phosphoric acid. They are found in virtually every type of cell and are a key component in all cellular membranes controlling what substances pass through the cell membrane. Phospholipids are completely compatible with the natural lipids found in epidermal layers of the skin. As skin cells die in the natural process of keratinization, this balance is upset, and need to be restored in order to regenerate. if the phospholipids-cholesterol balance is not restored, new cells will not regenerate or will regenerate more slowly.

- A component of plant seeds. It is an excellent antioxidant and a unique free radical scavenger. It has the ability to inhibit color changes in the skin due to aging, over exposure to the sun and hormonal imbalances.

- Pumpkin Enzyme

- Rosewood Essential Oil
- Rejuvenating and toning, rosewood essential oil promotes healing for most skin types and is a valuable epidermal equalizer. It is anti-bacterial and offers relief of the symptoms of acne and dermatitis.
- Sage Essential Oil
- Steam distilled from the blossoms and leaves of the medicinal plant Salvia Officinalis, this oil’s properties are refreshing, clearing and beneficial as an anti-inflammatory.
- Sandalwood Essential Oil
- Sandalwood is extracted from the innermost heartwood of Santalum album, a slow growing evergreen from the Indian mountains of Mysore. Soothing and moisturizing for most skin types, especially cracked, chapped, itchy or dry skin.
- Sea Algae Extract
- Blend of algae collected in the Pacific Ocean primarily around the Hawaiian islands these kinds of algae’s have specific properties for nourishment, skin softening, skin moisturizing and skin conditioning—acts as an humectant that attracts additional moisture to the skin
- Sea Buckthorn
- A Eurasian maritime shrub yielding edible berries that are orange-red in color. This fruit extract has an 80% concentration of essential fatty acids and is abundant in vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin C and is valued for its regenerating restorative and anti-aging properties.
- Shea Butter
- Shea butter is highly emollient and easily absorbed. Rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamins A and E, shea butter heals, soothes and protects the skin and has been used to treat dry skin, blemishes, skin discoloration, scars and wrinkles.
- Sodium Hydroxymethyglycinate
- An amino acid that is used as a preservative.
- Soy Protein
- Contains amino acids and antioxidants, has great ability to retain moisture and can have a smoothing effect in minimizing roughness and wrinkles.
- Spagyric
- An ancient, alchemical process that was used by the alchemist to preserve the life force that inherently moves through plants and herbs. This process involves a three step sequence: Separation, Purification, Reunification The end result is a living, active product carrying a high energetic frequency. The spagyric process allows this same "life force" that is in the plants to remain in the products. This explains why the healing process in our skin care is so effective.
- Spanish Blood Orange Essential Oil
- An essentail oil known for its signature sweet citrus bouquet.
- Spearmint Essential Oil

- Stearic Acid
- A fatty acid derived from palm kernel oil which soothes and softens Also used as a cosmetic base and emollient. Stearic acid is best known for the "pearly" and "waxy" feel that it adds, which ultimately has a cooling effect when applied to the skin.
- Stearyl Alcohol
- Plant derived emulsifier, meaning the "core" of the ingredient was a specific part of a plant and derived from it. This creates a stable and clean emulsion. Also used as a thickener.
- Sunflower
- Rich in vitamin E, it is a good source of lecithin (phospholipids), one of the primary components of cell membranes. - Sun-Infused oils
- Process using a liquid plant wax to extract properties from flowers, herbs and plants by placing them in the oil wax and exposing them to the sun for a certain number of hours each day until what is needed from the plant has been fully absorbed.
